Part B: Motor Usage
1. Servo motor
Servo motors are widely used in various control systems, the voltage input signal of which can be converted to mechanical output of the motor shaft. The drag element is controlled to achieve the control objectives.
Generally there are two types of servo motor: AC servo motor and DC servo motor. The first servo motor is a general DC motor, the under the control accuracy of which is not high, only using the general DC motor servo motor to do. 2. Stepping motor

4. Switched Reluctance Motor

5. Brush-less DC motor
Brush-less DC motor has good linearity, wide speed range, long life, easy maintenance and low noise. Comparing with brush motor, the brush-less DC motor is free from a series of problems caused by the brush, so that the motor has wide applications in the control system.

6. DC motor
The Direct current motor also called DC motor has the features such as good speed performance, easy starting, and also can be started with loads, therefore the current application of the direct current motor is still widespread, especially in the SCR after the DC power supply.

7. Asynchronous motor
Asynchronous motor has the features of simple structure, easy manufacture, use and maintenance, reliable operation and low mass, low cost. They are mainly used in asynchronous motor driven machine tools, pumps, blowers, compressors.

Part C: General Issues on Overhead & Gantry Crane Motor Selection
1. When the ambient temperature exceeds 40 ° C, it has two ways to select the overhead & gantry crane motor;

First, using the motor with insulation Class H, H-class motor is suitable for temperatures not more than 60 ° C environment;
Second, using the motor with insulation class F, but priority to the first method.
2. When overhead & gantry cranes working at an altitude of above 1000m,it need to put the motor capacity higher.

3. The overhead crane and gantry crane working outdoors, it should adopt motors with protection class IP54.
4. Overhead crane and gantry cranes perform non-continuous long-term work, you do not need to select the motor with S1 continuous duty or electrical connection rate JC100%. The overhead & gantry crane should select the motors with corresponding working level and the corresponding duty electrical connection sustained rate based on working class.(For different control mode, the choice of the specific way is different).

5. For the overhead and gantry cranes which are operated continuously for more than 10 minutes, they should use the lifting motors with S2 duty, the operating system of which allows for 30 minutes and 60 minutes performance. To choose 30 minutes or 60 minutes duty motor, it should be in accordance with the actual running time of institution. For the hoisting mechanisms of overhead crane and gantry cranes, the S4 duty motors are always the right choices.

6. The frequency motor generally do not provide the parameters for S2, S4 and S5 work system, according to the corresponding YZR power value to calculate.

7. Permitted by general conditions, it should choose the motors with less poles as far as possible for the overhead crane and gantry crane.
8. After the selection of overhead & gantry crane motor, it should be overload and fever checked.

9. Using stator voltage and speed control, frequency speed control system, or other information feedback and other special requirements, it needs to set mechanical design components together, which should contact the electrical relevant personnel.
10. When the user has special provisions for the overhead & gantry crane motor, it should be selected as user requirements.
11. The selection of overhead & gantry crane motor should be appropriately adjusted according to actual situation, to make the motor economical, reliable, and to achieve relatively ideal effect.
