Topic: Where were LED lights invented?

LED lights are a small piece of electronic component that emits light when an electric current passes through it. LED is a short form for Light Emitting Diode. It is basically a semiconductor, works on the principle of electroluminescence, and can emit visible light as well as infrared and UV lights.
LED lights have many advantages over the older light sources such as
Low energy consumption
Small size
Longer lifetime
Wide range of colors
Less heat emission
Now that’s enough introduction, let's talk about the history of LED lights. The first observation for LED street lights  was made in 1907 in Marconi labs by an experimenter named Henry Joseph. He observed that when a little electric potential is applied to a small piece of silicon carbide crystal, it emits yellow light. Although the first investigation on this experiment was made by Oleg Vladimirovich Losev from Russia. After that, for many years no progress was made.
In 1961, an accidental experiment was made. Robert Biard and Gary Pittman, while working in Texas Instruments, invented an LED that emits infrared light. Infrared lights are invisible to the human eye therefore at that time this invention was of no practical use.
The first LED for practical use was invented in 1962. Nick Holonyak, Jr invented the first LED that emits visible red light. He used Gallium Arsenide for his experiment. Because of his achievements, Nick Holonyak was awarded the title “Father of LED”.
But only red lights were not enough for our needs. We needed white lights and white light is a combination of RGB spectrum. To complete this spectrum we needed the other two colors that are green and blue.
In the early 1990s, orange, green and yellow lights were produced by experimenting with Indium Gallium Aluminum Phosphide as semiconductor material.
Now for the last color, in 1994, Shuji Nakamura invented bright blue led light using Gallium Nitride. These blue lights are the foundation of white LED lights which we are using commercially. Afterward many discoveries were made.
The white light was discovered when scientists experimented with blue LED light by coating it with fluorescent phosphors.
