Y STRAINER:
A Y Strainer is ordinarily used in gas, liquids, pressurized line along with suction and vacuum situations. Y-Strainers are designed for applications that will produce small quantities of solid particulate and require infrequent cleaning. A blow-down valve on the drain port can allow clean-out without removing the screen or interrupting the process flow if solids are easily flushed from the screen and fluid can be exhausted to atmosphere.
