The first is the expansion of Zoom's automatic captioning system. Earlier this year, Zoom announced that the feature would be available to all users by fall 2021. The company now plans to make it available in all 30 languages. It also added live translation support for 12 languages. Both expansions will take place next year and come after the company buys a startup specializing in real-time translation.
Zoom is also working on an enhanced whiteboard experience that will make this feature available on the web and outside of meetings and calls. As a result, you'll find a separate whiteboard tab when the experience launches in beta later this year. Then next year, Zoom plans to work with Facebook to bring its video conferencing software and Whiteboard features to the company's Horizon Workrooms, giving you both virtual access.
